I wanted to share something that I saw on our local Fox 8 Cleveland news that I thought was so very cool.
One of the Fox 8 Cleveland anchors was broadcasting a Facebook live from her home due to Covid. Her cute little toddler showed up and started chatting while she was broadcasting. In pre-Covid days, this would have been socially unacceptable. But I am seeing things of this nature again and again, especially on this particular news channel. Two of the anchors regularly have their dogs steal the show by wrestling in the background, making all kinds of grunting and whining noises, leaving the newscasters well as us, the audience, in stitches. And sometimes the subject the reporters are reporting on something very serious, not something where you want to start chuckling in the middle of. But they all handle each situation like true seasoned professionals.
During one of the meteorologists' (Melissa Mack) weather segments we often hear her son, Jett, in the background and I just can't help it laugh. I love that we no longer have to be perfect. I love the fact that even though they are on TV and are LIVE, that they are just as human as we are. Stuff happens-and sometimes at the most inopportune times.
Again and again, I find myself on the phone chatting with a new Pixure This! family member and low and behold, my dogs start barking because the UPS or Fed Ex driver delivers a package. My girl sounds like she is going to rip up the delivery person, although it's more likely she would lick them to death (Boxer parents raise your hands). I adore that we as pet people, don't bat an eye when things like this happen. In this crazy time of uncertainty, its so nice to know that we are all connected and can understand that "life happens" and that we can all laugh at this. There is not enough of this in the world. Love more, hugs your pets and laugh anytime you get a chance my friends!
